Unram Advances Strategic Programs Through the 2026 Work Plan

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) held its Annual Work Meeting (RKT) over two days, from Saturday, January 31, 2026, to Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Hotel Merumatta. The event was attended by the Rector of Unram, the Chair of the Senate, Vice Rectors, Deans, as well as leaders of units and institutions within Unram.
The Annual Work Meeting (RKT) serves as a strategic forum for evaluating performance while simultaneously formulating future university programs. In his directive, Unram’s Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D., emphasized the importance of ensuring the effectiveness of the meeting as a space for consolidation among work units.
“This meeting is expected to serve as a platform for consolidation and alignment of programs across units, so that the implementation of future university programs will be more focused and measurable,” he stated.
During the RKT, each work unit within Unram presented its flagship programs and work plans as part of efforts to strengthen institutional performance and achieve the university’s targets in a sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., in his directive, underscored a number of priority programs that must become a shared focus in 2026 and beyond. One of the main agendas highlighted was the acceleration of achieving superior accreditation status.
“In 2026, it is imperative that the superior accreditation program continues to advance. Teams at the university level, together with the units under them, must act decisively to ensure that by 2026 we achieve 70 percent superior accreditation. By 2027, this figure must rise to 90 percent, or ideally approach full accreditation coverage,” he emphasized.
The Rector also instructed the Institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development (LPMPP) to map study programs that are being driven toward achieving superior accreditation, as well as those currently being prepared to reach that level. In addition to national accreditation, Unram is also faced with targets related to international accreditation.
Beyond accreditation, the Rector emphasized the importance of achieving Key Performance Indicators (IKU) as a benchmark for institutional performance. Another priority program is the strengthening of the Impactful Campus and Impactful Professor initiatives, which are expected to be supported by clear technical guidelines to ensure ease of implementation.
“Please prepare the technical guidelines so that the Impactful Campus and Impactful Professor programs can be implemented effectively,” he stated.
The next strategic program is the strengthening of the World Class University (WCU) vision. The Rector emphasized that WCU is not merely oriented toward rankings, but also toward enhancing the quality of research and the supporting infrastructure.
“We need to develop flagship research supported by well‑equipped, standardized laboratories. There must be a clear distinction between educational laboratories and research laboratories, including laboratory accreditation and the qualifications of laboratory personnel,” he explained.
In support of the World Class University (WCU) vision, Unram is also encouraged to open new study programs, particularly at the master’s and doctoral levels, in order to generate research with global competitiveness.
Through this Annual Work Meeting (RKT), Unram is expected to strengthen synergy among its units and optimize various strategic ideas to drive the achievement of institutional targets in a sustainable manner.
