Unram and SNU Forge Strategic Academic Collaboration through WINIT 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram reaffirms its commitment to strengthening international academic networks through the organization of the World Innovation Network and Intelligence Transformation (WINIT) 2025. In collaboration with Seoul National University (SNU), this four-day event, held from 21 to 24 July 2025, is designed to foster joint research initiatives and the exchange of innovative ideas across nations and academic disciplines.

At the opening ceremony held on Monday (22 July) in the Rector Conference Room at Unram, the event was attended by Unram Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., along with the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Director of the S-Cube Center, and the Head of Unram’s Office of International Affairs. From Seoul National University (SNU), attendees included Prof. Junseok Hwang, Jinyoung Kim, and students.

In his remarks, the Rector expressed his appreciation for the presence of the SNU delegation and emphasized the importance of collaborative spirit in the era of globalization.

“This is a collaboration that we truly value. As Rector, I am fully committed to supporting this initiative. We hope this partnership will bring tangible benefits through the transfer of knowledge and technology, and serve as a platform for mutual growth,” said Prof. Bambang.

University (SNU) expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Unram. He noted that Unram holds great potential to become a pioneer of academic collaboration in the Southeast Asian region.

“We are very pleased to be here and to collaborate with Unram. We believe that Unram can be a pioneer in establishing sustainable partnerships in the fields of innovation and technology,” he remarked.

Following the official opening, the entire delegation was invited on a guided tour of Unram’s campus, including visit to the Faculty of Engineering, one of the main venues for WINIT 2025 activities. The visit served as an opportunity to introduce Unram’s advanced research infrastructure and laboratory facilities to its international partners.

WINIT 2025 is designed to be more than an academic event, it serves as an interactive forum where students and faculty from both Unram and Seoul National University can collaborate, share knowledge, and build lasting intellectual and technological relationships. The program emphasizes Unram’s commitment to fostering global innovation networks and cultivating sustainable academic partnerships

Throughout WINIT 2025, participants will engage in a variety of activities, including public lectures, thematic discussions, field visits, and collaborative project presentations focused on innovative solutions to global technological and economic challenges.

By organizing WINIT 2025, Unram strengthens its strides toward becoming a world-class university and positions itself as a hub for idea exchange, a center of innovation, and a pioneer of international academic networks from West Nusa Tenggara to the world.
