Mataram, University of Mataram — In commemoration of its 63rd Dies Natalis, the University of Mataram once again organized a Blood Donation Event. The activity was held on Friday (24/10) at the University Clinic. Open to both the university community and the general public, the event received enthusiastic participation from individuals eager to share kindness and contribute through blood donation.

This social action is part of the 63rd Unram Dies Natalies event, which not only focuses on academic activities but also emphasizes humanitarian values and social awareness. Through this blood donation activity, the committee collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) to raise public awareness of the importance of blood donation.

The head of the Unram Clinic working team, Muhammad Serai, S.Si, S.H, conveyed the target number of participants, including collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (POLRI), and the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) to participate in the event. In addition, he also conveyed the hopes and goals of this blood donation intended to benefit the community.

“Our target is 100 participants, and now around 50 people have come, including members of the police force. Since this event is also open to the public and for the benefit of the community, we hope it can help people out there who have serious illnesses and need blood donations,” he explained.

dr. Ika Noviati Subandrio, as part of the Health Promotion and Public Relations Team at Unram Clinic, stated in her remarks regarding future plans to improve the quality of services at Unram Clinic in assisting the community, including through facility upgrades.

“On this particular day, the Unram Clinic collaborated with the West Lombok branch of the Indonesian Red Cross. Due to limited resources, both in terms of medical personnel and equipment, we are still planning to provide blood donation facilities that people can visit on normal days,” he said.

One of the blood donors, I Gede Yudiartawan, shared his experience after participating in the activity “After receiving information from the office, my friends and I decided to participate. This is also my eighth time to donate blood.”

The event ran smoothly and was enthusiastically attended by all participants, reflecting the spirit of Unram’s Dies Natalis. It is hoped that this event will raise public awareness of the importance of regular blood donation.
