Mataram, University of Mataram – In order to commemorate the National Education Day (Hardiknas) celebrated on May 2, 2024, the University of Mataram (Unram) held a ceremony with all academics and students at the Unram Rectorate field.

Hardiknas 2024 carries the theme ” Move Together, Continue Independent Learning” in line with what is stated in the circular letter of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11911/MPK.A/TU.02.03/2024 concerning Guidelines for Commemoration of National Education Day in 2024.

The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., as the inspector of the ceremony read out the speech of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim.

In his speech, Nadiem wrote that starting the Independent Learning movement was not an easy thing to change a large system, especially since the journey at the beginning really needed a struggle to achieve change.

“It is not an easy thing to transform a very large system. It is not a simple task to change perspectives on the learning process. At the beginning of the journey, we realize that making change requires struggle. Discomfort accompanies every step towards improvement and progress,” said Prof. Bambang when reading the speech of the Minister of Research, Technology and Education.

However, as time goes by, Independent Learning has been able to bring changes that can be felt and become a new face for Indonesian education.

“Now, we have begun to feel the changes happening around us, driven together with simultaneous and simultaneous steps. We are building a new face of education and culture in Indonesia together with the Freedom of Learning movement, “he continued.

The Rector of Unram also underlined the Minister of Education and Technology’s hope that the independent movement would continue in order to achieve common goals, “Everything we have done must be continued as a sustainable movement. Everything we have tried must be continued as a journey towards the realization of the school we aspire to.”
