Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) again showed its commitment in improving student academic quality through the scientific activities of the National Olympiad Selection in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (ON-MIPA) at the University level for 2025. This activity was held on April 26-27, 2025 at the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium, Unram.

The ON-MIPA selection this time involved four main fields, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. A total of 300 students from various faculties within Unram participated which showed the enthusiasm and high spirit of the participants.

The participants came from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences (FHISIP), and Faculty of Animal Science (FAPET).

Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T., in his speech said that this activity not only aims to hone students’ academic skills, but also to form a deeper scientific way of thinking.

“This activity aims to explore a form of articulation of thinking, not merely looking for victory. In addition, this activity also aims to review the ability in the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which must be mastered by a scientist,” he said.

Through this selection, Unram hopes to select excellent candidates who will represent the university at the national ON-MIPA event, and produce a generation of young scientists who are globally competitive.
