Unram Holds Workshop on Alignment of Internal Quality Assurance System in Accordance with Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023
Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) held a workshop on “Discussion of the Alignment of the University of Mataram Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Tool according to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023” which was held at the Golden Palace Hotel, Mataram on Wednesday, 30 October 2024.
This event aims to optimise the understanding and implementation of new policies related to quality assurance of higher education, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Permendikbudristek) No. 53 of 2023. The Head of Unram’s Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP), Dr. Ir. Sitti Latifah, M.Sc.F., IPU, gave the opening briefing by expressing her appreciation to the participants and especially to the main speakers who were present to share important insights.
The next speech was delivered by the Chairman of the Unram Senate, Prof. Dr. Agil Al Idrus, M.Si., who emphasised the strategic role of the senate in maintaining and improving academic quality at Unram through strengthening the internal quality assurance system.
“The Senate has a strategic role in maintaining and supervising the quality of education at the University of Mataram. Through the alignment of SPMI tools with the latest policies, we must ensure that every academic element runs according to the established standards to achieve superior educational quality,” he said.
Unram’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, also attended and highlighted the importance of harmonising thoughts and strategies in preparing for the implementation of Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 within Unram.
“The alignment of thoughts and synergy is very important so that the University of Mataram is ready to implement Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. This step is crucial to ensure the quality of our education remains relevant and competitive, in accordance with national policy developments,” said Prof Nana.
The workshop’s main speaker, Prof. Dr. Ir. Setyo Pertiwi, M.Agr. from IPB University, delivered two important topics. First, she reviewed the essence of Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023, which emphasises the importance of quality assurance as a pillar to improve higher education standards in Indonesia.
Furthermore, Prof. Setyo discussed the alignment of Unram’s SPMI tools to be in accordance with the latest provisions in the Permendikbudristek. This material is the main focus to support Unram in adjusting and improving SPMI tools to be in line with the latest national policies.
This workshop is expected to provide guidance for Unram in strengthening the internal quality assurance system and encouraging the implementation of educational standards in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as optimising the quality of sustainable academic services.
