Mataram, University of Mataram – An emotional and proud atmosphere enveloped the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium Building, University of Mataram (Unram) on April 16-17, 2025. Unram again held a graduation procession that was full of solemnity and enthusiasm. A total of 1,898 graduates from various levels of education have officially graduated and are ready to step into a broader world.

Among the graduates, there were 10 graduates of Doctoral programs, 130 graduates of Master’s programs, 1,520 graduates of Bachelor’s programs, 207 graduates of Diploma programs, and 31 graduates of Professional programs. They are the faces of the future who have gone through a long journey with hard work, dedication, and an undaunted spirit.

The graduation procession this time took place in a new atmosphere as the Auditorium M. Yusuf Abu Bakar had been renovated. Several new facilities such as videotrons have also been installed to support the smooth running of the event and provide comfort for the graduates.

In his speech, the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., expressed his pride to the graduates and their families.

“On behalf of the academic community of the University of Mataram, I congratulate the graduates. Your hard work over the years, facing challenges and obstacles, joys and sorrows, today has paid off. To the parents, I also extend sincere congratulations on the success of your sons and daughters,” he said.

The Rector emphasized, the graduation is not the finish line. Rather, it is the starting point for practicing knowledge and contributing to society.

“Use your knowledge to help society and the world in overcoming increasingly complex problems. Be smart, agile, active, and able to seize opportunities in the midst of growing challenges. One’s success is not only determined by GPA or the alma mater where you study. But by honesty, discipline, intelligence, hard work, love for work, leadership spirit, and a competitive and creative personality, “he advised enthusiastically.

At the end of his speech, the Rector of Unram conveyed a deep message to the graduates to always maintain the good name of the alma mater and become agents of change wherever they are.

“You are our pride, the pride of Unram. Be agents of change for this nation with hard work, creativity, and integrity,” he concluded.

With togas and diplomas in hand, thousands of Unram graduates are now preparing to embark on a new chapter of their lives carrying the spirit of the alma mater to work, inspire, and change the world.
