Mataram, University of Mataram – Dr. Eka S. Prasedya, a lecturer from the University of Mataram (Unram), along with two students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Hikmaturrohmi and Raden Suherani, participated as part of the Indonesian delegation at the 2025 International Phycological Congress (IPC) held in Bohol, Philippines, from June 8 to 13, 2025.

The International Phycological Congress (IPC) is a prestigious global conference in the field of phycology, focusing on research related to macroalgae (seaweed) and microalgae. The congress was first held in 1982 in Canada and has since been conducted regularly every four years. This year’s congress brought together 313 delegates from 32 countries.

The participation of Dr. Eka and his students in the 2025 IPC represents Indonesia’s contribution particularly that of the University of Mataram in advancing research and scientific knowledge in the field of marine science. This involvement not only expands Unram’s international academic network but also reflects the university’s commitment to encouraging students to actively engage in global scientific forums.
