Unram Organizes Workshop on Implementation of Information Technology-Based Intellectual Property Services
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) hosted a workshop on the Implementation of Information Technology-Based Intellectual Property Services held at the Senate Conference Room, Unram Rectorate on July 29 to 30, 2024.
With the theme “Digital Transformation of Intellectual Property Supporting the Digital Economy,” this event aims to increase understanding and ability in managing intellectual property through the use of information technology.
This workshop is a collaboration between Unram and the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. Achmad Fahrurazi, S.H., M.H., as Head of the Legal Services Division of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, gave a speech at the opening of the event.
In his remarks, he emphasized that through this Workshop, information technology development continues to be improved in line with the government’s expectations for an electronic-based government.
“The government hopes that the development of information technology in each ministry will be more focused and integrated in line with the electronic-based government system. With this activity, knowledge and understanding related to technology and information services related to intellectuals in West Nusa Tenggara, especially at the University of Mataram, will be better, “he said.
Achmad Fahrurazi also conveyed that after getting a better understanding, it can increase requests for intellectual services.
“It is hoped that by having a good understanding, intellectual service requests will increase and encourage lecturers and students of the University of Mataram to produce intellectual property that can provide benefits to the community. And also as a manifestation of the tri dharma of higher education, community service,” he said.
The workshop was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Unram, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si. In her opening speech, Prof. Nana said that the tri dharma of higher education is strongly indicated by intellectual property rights.
“This is a very important and right momentum to be conducted in the university environment, so almost all of the tri darma of higher education that we do are highly indicative of intellectual property rights. We have used IT, because there are several products fostered by Unram that have entered the international label. Therefore, we hope that with this workshop those who are fostered by Unram can have their needs fulfilled and with the work produced by them we surely need input from this workshop, we want to implement how intellectual property can be integrated through information systems which are very important at this time,” she said.
This workshop was filled with various material presentation sessions presenting speakers from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The speakers provided in-depth explanations on various aspects of information technology-based intellectual property management, ranging from policy direction, deepening intellectual property, web portal services and applications, to network management systems.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that participants can apply the knowledge gained to develop and protect their intellectual property optimally, and contribute to the advancement of technology and innovation in the Province of NTB in particular, and Indonesia in general.
