Unram Receives Visit from Universität Kassel Delegation, Germany: Discusses Global Sustainable Education Collaboration

Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) received a visit from Universität Kassel, Germany on Wednesday (30/7) at the Rector’s Meeting Room, Unram Rectorate. This visit is part of discussions on collaboration within the Change Project titled “Exploring Critical Sustainable Development Education from Global Perspectives” for the period 2025–2029.
The delegation from Universität Kassel included Dr. Ellen Christoforatou, Prof. Dr. Nina Skorse-Gumprecht, and Prof. Dr. Claudia Schlaak. They were welcomed by Unram Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Educational Sciences (FKIP), and faculty members.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of Unram expressed gratitude and appreciation for this visit as an important step in strengthening global cooperation in education and research.
“Today’s meeting is a special moment for us, as it marks a new step in strengthening global collaboration. I am proud that Unram is part of the CHANGES Program, which focuses on the important theme: Exploring Critical Sustainable Development Education from Global Perspectives. We need such global perspectives,” said the Rector.
He added that this collaboration connects educational institutions from various parts of the world—such as Germany, Indonesia, Argentina, Canada, and South Africa—in a joint effort to build critical and globally relevant sustainable education.
The Rector also highlighted Unram’s achievements, including ranking 38th globally in the Technology Development and Innovation category of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025, and being listed among the Top 120 QS Southeast Asian Universities.
“We are proud to represent Indonesia in this global initiative. This spirit of collaboration is not just about the program, but about the journey together toward progress and meaningful goals,” he emphasised.
Prof. Bambang also expressed appreciation to the FKIP Unram team, particularly Dean Dr. Zulkifli and Dr. Rudyat Telly Savalas, who have led this collaboration initiative with enthusiasm and vision.
Unram is scheduled to make a reciprocal visit to Universität Kassel in September 2025 as part of strengthening this partnership.
