Unram Run 2024 Competition Enthusiastically Welcomed by Students from 30 Universities in Indonesia
Mataram, University of Mataram – Welcoming the month of June 2024, University of Mataram (Unram) held a national competition “Unram Run 2024” which was attended by students from various regions in Indonesia. The national competition located at Unram was held on Saturday (1/6) morning.
There were 3 (three) running categories for male and female participants, namely 2.5 K, 5 K, and 10 K with a total of 380 participants. The participants were officially released by the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs of Unram, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T.
Chairman of the Unram Run 2024 Committee, Aurelius Rofinus Lolong Teluma, S.S., M.A. said that a number of participants who registered came from 30 universities spread across 15 provinces in Indonesia which included East Java, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, West Java, West Nusa Tenggara, DKI Jakarta, Riau, Banten, Southeast Sulawesi, Lampung, West Kalimantan, Jambi, West Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi.
“The track record of universities now is not only as achievers, but organisers of national competitions. Well, one of the series of national competitions is the first Unram Run today and will be followed by other competitions in arts and culture and academics,” said Aurel.
Uniquely, the Unram Run was also attended by one participant from North Brabant, Netherlands. Sofie Scheji, a student from Eindhoven University of Technology, participated in the women’s 5K category and won third place.
“I joined this race because I love running, one of my favourite sports. I feel very happy to be a winner even though the weather was very hot,” said Sofie, who is currently participating in an internship programme at the Faculty of Engineering Unram.
