Unram Secures 5 Medals, Elevates NTB to 6th Place at the 19th POMNAS 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – The long and determined journey of the University of Mataram (Unram) contingent at the 19th National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) in Central Java 2025 has culminated in a proud achievement. Unram’s team successfully secured five medals across several sports, contributing to Nusa Tenggara Barat’s (NTB) placement at 6th out of 38 represented provinces.

The 19th POMNAS was held across two host cities, Semarang and Solo, featuring a total of 17 sporting disciplines. Thousands of student-athletes from universities across Indonesia gathered to showcase their best performances.

The University of Mataram contingent delivered an impressive performance, securing medals across several sporting disciplines. The five medals earned consisted of one gold, one silver, and three bronze, with the following details:

  1. Malini Indah Asmara and Tata Rizkiana – Gold Medal, 4×4 Beach Volleyball

  2. Chantika Agustina – Silver Medal, Tarung Derajat

  3. Aryo Pangeran Praja – Bronze Medal, Tarung Derajat

  4. Baiq Tri Atika Azzahrah – Bronze Medal, Pencak Silat

  5. Muammar Qadafi – Bronze Medal, Men’s Team Karate Kata

This achievement also served as a significant contribution to the NTB contingent, which secured a total of 28 medals overall comprising 8 gold, 4 silver, and 16 bronze. With this accomplishment, NTB successfully concluded the 19th POMNAS in sixth place nationwide, a remarkable feat amid the intense competition among provinces.

The Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of the University of Mataram expressed his highest appreciation to all Unram athletes for their dedication and hard work throughout the competition.

“This achievement is a source of pride not only for the University of Mataram but also for the people of NTB. It stands as clear evidence that collaboration and a spirit of togetherness can lead to positive impact and remarkable accomplishments,” he stated.

This success was also made possible through the support of many parties from coaches and mentors to the entire academic community of the University of Mataram, who consistently motivated the athletes. The spirit of ‘Strive, Move, Impact, and Achieve’ accompanied them from the beginning of their journey to the final match.

The 19th POMNAS 2025 officially concluded with a festive closing ceremony held at the Basketball Stadium of Diponegoro University, Semarang, on Friday evening (September 26). The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Fauzan, who extended his appreciation to all athletes and officials for upholding sportsmanship and the spirit of competition.

The University of Mataram reaffirmed its commitment to continuously supporting student achievements, both in academics and non-academic fields. The success at the 19th POMNAS is expected to inspire all NTB students to keep striving for excellence and to bring pride to their region and alma mater at the national and even international level.
