Unram Strengthens Global Collaboration to Support International Competitiveness Vision

Mataram, University of Mataram – In order to achieve the vision of the University of Mataram (Unram) as a superior and globally competitive higher education institution, the Unram Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) conducted a review of research and community service proposals on January 21-22, 2025.
This activity aims to ensure that the proposed research and community service proposals meet the standards of quality and relevance in line with the needs of the community and the development of science.
In this activity, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, ST., M.Sc. (Eng.), Ph.D.; Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr.; accompanied by the Secretary of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP.
The activity, which lasted for two days at the LPPM Unram Building, involved competent reviewers from various scientific fields. In his speech, the Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Sukartono said that this review process is one of the strategic steps to improve the quality of research and service produced by lecturers and researchers in Unram.
“Through this activity, we hope to filter and improve the quality of the proposals submitted, so that later the results of research and service will not only benefit the local community but can also compete at the global level,” said Prof. Sukartono.
The review process is conducted in a comprehensive manner, including an assessment of the clarity of objectives, research methods, relevance of the topic to Unram’s vision, and potential impact. The participants, consisting of lecturers and researchers from various faculties, were given the opportunity to present their proposals in front of the reviewers for constructive feedback.
In addition, Unram in an effort to achieve its vision as a superior and globally competitive university. One of the strategic steps taken is to open an international cooperation scheme in the field of research and community service. This program is designed to expand academic networks, improve research quality, and have a positive impact on local and international communities.
Prof. Sukartono said that the international cooperation scheme is one of the main pillars in achieving the institution’s vision, “Currently there are 41 titles of research proposals and 14 titles of service proposals submitted. By strengthening global collaboration, we not only improve the quality of education and research, but also bring UNRAM’s name to the world stage.”
In addition, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin emphasized, “This activity is a form of Unram’s commitment to improving the quality of the tridarma of higher education, including education, research, and community service.”
With the synergy between researchers, LPPM, and the university, Unram is expected to continue to produce superior innovations that support global competitiveness.
Through the implementation of this research and service proposal review, Unram is increasingly steadily moving towards its vision as a university that is superior, innovative, and has a significant contribution to local and international development.
