Unram Welcomes BAN-PT Assessors in Field Assessment for Accreditation of FHISIP Master of Law Study Programme

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP) of the University of Mataram (Unram) held a Field Assessment for the Accreditation of the Master of Law Study Programme at the Faculty of Law Auditorium on Monday (17/11). This activity was an important moment in the effort to improve academic quality in the study programmes at FHISIP.

The assessment was attended by the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., accompanied by the Chair of the Senate and the vice-rectors. In addition, the assessment was attended by the Dean of FHISIP along with the vice deans, programme heads, quality assurance team, lecturers and educational staff.

In his speech, the Rector of Unram expressed his appreciation to the entire academic community who had worked hard to prepare for the accreditation process. “I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the entire academic community who have worked hard to prepare for this accreditation process,” said Prof. Bambang.

The Rector emphasised that this field assessment is an important part of the ongoing quality improvement efforts at Unram. He also highlighted the university’s various strategic achievements in recent years, both in terms of academics, research, and infrastructure development.

Prof. Bambang also emphasised Unram’s commitment to strengthening academic quality, “In recent years, we have recorded various strategic achievements, both in the fields of academics, research, and infrastructure development. All of these are important foundations for the Master of Law Study Programme to become stronger and more competitive in the future.

Furthermore, he emphasised Unram’s vision of becoming a world-class university, “University of Mataram continues to move towards becoming a World Class University. We emphasise excellence in teaching, excellence in research, excellence in community transformation, and excellence in administration. The digital-based administrative reforms that we have carried out have succeeded in accelerating various academic and staffing services, thereby boosting productivity and increasing the competitiveness of the campus.”

The Rector hopes that this field assessment will provide strategic benefits for quality development. “We hope that this process will not only serve as an evaluation, but also provide constructive input for strengthening the quality of the Master of Law Study Programme in the future,” he concluded.

The assessor from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), Prof. Dr. Angkasa, S.H., M.Hum., in his presentation said that the field assessment process focused on validating the data and documents submitted by the study programme.

“Accreditation must not misjudge. If the assessment is too high, it is not good; if it is too low, it is detrimental. Therefore, the assessment must truly reflect the actual conditions of the study programme,” he emphasised.

Through this field assessment, Unram hopes that the accreditation results will reflect the commitment of all faculties and study programmes in maintaining and improving the implementation of higher education.
