Mataram, University of Mataram – The Consulate General of the United States in Surabaya visited the University of Mataram (Unram) for an introductory meeting between the newly appointed U.S. Consul General and the University’s leadership, while also discussing opportunities for future collaboration. The meeting took place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the Rector’s Conference Room at the University Rectorate Building.
The delegation from the U.S. Consulate General was warmly received by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D., along with the University leadership team. On this occasion, Prof. Akmal emphasized that the visit represents an important momentum for the University of Mataram to broaden its international networks.
“The visit from the U.S. Consulate General undoubtedly brings encouragement and strength for us in realizing our vision. We are honored to welcome the Consulate General delegation, as this signifies recognition of Unram’s efforts toward becoming a world-class university. Furthermore, the U.S. Consul General emphasized that opportunities for collaboration could be directed toward the field of agriculture. “Collaboration with universities in Indonesia, particularly in agriculture, is highly important.
