Unram’s Green Cycle Team Achieves Excellence at the ASEAN Young Eco Visionary Competition 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Green Cycle Team of the University of Mataram (Unram) achieved significant success at the ASEAN Young Eco Visionary Competition 2025, which took place from August 2 to 16, 2025, at Prama Hotel, Sanur, Bali.
The Green Cycle Team consists of five students: Arum (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Chemistry Education Program – Team Captain), Syfa (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, English Education Program), Nisa (Faculty of Animal Science), Nita (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, English Education Program), and Suhardi (Faculty of Animal Science). The team attained Third Place in the Best Problem Statement category and Third Place in the Best Solution category, underscoring their capacity to formulate innovative ideas and present practical solutions to contemporary environmental challenges.
Prof. Ir. Yusuf Akhyar Sutaryono, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Animal Science, who served as the supervising professor of the Green Cycle Team, explained that the team had been preparing for four months since April 2025.
“I only assisted them by providing guidance. Of course, their success was also supported by many parties within the university. They competed against participants from various countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Laos,” he stated.
Prof. Yusuf expressed his deep appreciation for the students under his supervision and conveyed his pride in the team’s performance.
“I am deeply proud that the Unram team received commendation from the judges, who were professors from Russia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Significantly, among the three winners, Unram was the only first-time participant in this competition,” he stated.
This achievement is expected to serve as a motivation for other Unram students to continue honing their skills, fostering innovation, and embracing opportunities to compete at the international level. Through this success, the Green Cycle Team has not only brought honor to the university but also elevated the reputation of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in the ASEAN arena.
