Mataram University Signed MoU with ACIAR to Strengthen Research Collaboration
The Rector of Mataram University, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D said that Unram is a university that has the longer history than other universities in Indonesia in carrying out research which is funded by ACIAR and it continuously for more than 20 years.
Prof. Bambang said “Usually, our collaboration is carried out based on the MoU between ACIAR and the Ministry of Agriculture. I am very happy because now we have signed an MoU with ACIAR directly. We hope that soon we can implement ACIAR’s new project entitled Agriculture for Tourism”.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Australian Ambassador HE Mrs. Penny Williams. He said that the MoU is an umbrella for research cooperation in agriculture, including food crop agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, plantations and forestry.
The University of Mataram will follow up the research collaboration by coordinating directly with the Institute for Research and Community Service and it also will be followed up by the Center for Sustainable Farm Systems (Cesfarms) of Mataram University.
Furthermore, ACIAR will also fund the research collaboration between the University of Adelaide Australia, Mataram university, Udayana University (Unud) and Sam Ratulangi University (Unstrat) from July 1, 2023 until June 30, 2028.
The signing of the MoU was also attended by the Rector of Diponegoro University, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University and the researchers from each university.
