The Office of International Affair Unram Held a socialization of IISMA Scholarship Program

Mataram, the University of Mataram – The Office of International Affairs of the University of Mataram held a socialization of the Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2024 at the Unram Dome building on Monday, July 24, 2023.

The event entitled “All About IISMA” was attended by Unram students in semester 3 and 5 and also presented the Head of IISMA Program, Dr. Ir. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya, S.T., M.T., D.Eng from Gadjah Mada University as the main speaker.
Several IISMA scholarship awardees were also attand to share their study experiences. There were Hasbiallah Al-Amin, awardee of the IISMA 2022 scholarship at Warwick University, UK; Silmi Fadhlina Hubayya Munir, awarde of the IISMA 2023 scholarship at Sussex University, UK; and Surni Ahyatul Fitri awarde of the IISMA 2023 scholarship at Michigan State University, USA.

Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana as the Secretary of the Office of International Affairs Unram explained that the purpose of holding the socialization was to provide support to semester 3 and 5 students to be able to register for the IISMA 2024 scholarship program.
“The support that provided by the Office of International Affairs is not only socialization but there are several series. There is also internal selection, guidance on soft skills in essay writing and interviews, as well as English language training,” explained Dewi.

The Secretary of OIA Unram hopes that the output of socialization and guidance that will be provided by OIA can encourage student readiness in terms of documents and soft skills. So, when registration for the IISMA 2024 program has opened, the students are ready to register.
“We are from OIA Unram will conduct an internal selection, which we hope that many students will register. The goal is to increase the number of Unram students who can receive IISMA scholarships every year,” she said.

The head of IISMA Program, Dr. Ir. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya, S.T., M.T., D.Eng explained that IISMA is a scholarship program from the Indonesian government to provide opportunities for Indonesian students to take a part in international mobility programs to the world’s best universities.
“By participating in this IISMA program, the undergraduate students can take part in lecture activities at foreign partner universities for 1 semester. And hopefully you can gain much knowledge there as possible to be able to be a provision when you return to Indonesia, “said the Head of the IISMA Program.
