Unram and Unpatti Initiate to Collaborate in Multi-Field
Mataram, the University of Mataram welcomed a visit from Pattimura University (Unpatti), Ambon on Monday, August 21, 2023 in the Rector’s Meeting Room, Unram Rectorate. The visit was also the moment of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unram and Unpatti.
The purpose of Unpatti was to initiate a cooperation in the realm of the tri dharma of higher education, namely education and teaching, research and development, and community service. The parties from Unpatti who attended were Unpatti Rector, Prof. Dr. M. J. Saptenno, S.H., M.Hum. and Unpatti Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Muspida, M.Si.
Unram Rector, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. clearly explained a number of cooperation opportunities in several fields of development such as agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, specifically the development of Lamtoro Beef, and other fields.
“This can be part of what we work together. We try to cooperate something that does not exist in western Indonesia. We will be able to become leaders of a research that does not yet exist in Indonesia. But, we make something that can be glimpsed from what this university makes, through this collaboration, “said Prof. Bambang.
Furthermore, the Rector of Unpatti expressed his hope to be able to immediately discuss and plan Unpatti’s cooperation project with Unram. “We hope we can collaborate with this MoU, even though it is small first (cooperation project) but can be implemented,” said Prof. Saptenno.
In addition, the memorandum of understanding between the two universities was signed by Unram Rector, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. and Unpatti Rector, Prof. Dr. M. J. Saptenno, S.H., M.Hum. Then, the event continued with a more in-depth discussion session on cooperation in various fields mentioned earlier.
