KUI Unram Holds Discussion on Potential Collaboration with the Consulate General of the United States in Indonesia

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Office of International Affairs of the University of Mataram (KUI Unram) held a discussion related to potential cooperation with the Consulate General of the United States in Indonesia at the Rector’s Conference Room, Rectorate of Unram on Wednesday (21/2) presenting John McDaniel as Head of Political and Economic Affairs of the Consulate General of the United States in Indonesia.

The discussion was attended by the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sukardi, M.Pd.; Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng), Ph.D.; Head of KUI, Prof. Ir. Dahlanuddin, M.Rur.Sc., Ph.D.; Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Planning Bureau, Irpan Siswandi, S.Sos., M.Si.; deans and vice deans.

Rector of Unram Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. in his speech expressed his gratitude for the discussion.
“Let us thank God because we have a very special guest today. This rarely happens so we are very lucky and honored to have Mr. John McDaniel from the Consulate General of the United States in Indonesia,” said Prof. Bambang.

Prof. Bambang further expressed his hope that through this discussion, potential cooperation in strategic fields can be discussed.
“Through this discussion, we can explore the potential for cooperation in fields such as clean and renewable energy, better access to health services, and other topics. We have great potential in agriculture, aquaculture, marine, and also in terms of tourism because we are strong in those sectors and Unram has a tourism study program,” said Prof. Bambang.

Head of Political and Economic Affairs of the Consulate General of the United States in Indonesia, John McDaniel in his speech expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by Unram.

“Thank you very much for the warm welcome, it’s great to meet you all. This is one of my favorite things to do. Going to universities, meet students and talk to people who are doing amazing research. One thing we can offer is a program for students, lecturers and visitors from America on a variety of topics ranging from commercial fields, renewable energy to freedom for all source fields including artificial intelligence,” said John.

At the end of his speech John McDaniel invited all parties to explore opportunities to truly collaborate, where relationships can be built and continue to work together.
