Aiming for Excellent Quality: Assessment of FKIP Unram’s Sociology Education Study Programme by Lamdik Assessors
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram (FKIP Unram) received a visit from a team of assessors from the Educational Self-Accreditation Institute (Lamdik) to carry out the accreditation process for the FKIP Unram Sociology Education Study Programme. This assessment took place for two days from 29th February to 1st March 2024, located in the FKIP Unram Senate Conference Room.
The arrival of the Lamdik assessor team at FKIP Unram was warmly welcomed by the Rector of Unram, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, and the Dean of FKIP Unram. Members of the Lamdik assessor team who attended were Amika Wardana, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D. and Yosafat Hermawan Trinugraha, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D.
The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. said, “The visit of the Lamdik assessor team is an important moment for us in evaluating and improving the quality of the Sociology Education Study Programme at FKIP Unram. We really appreciate the dedication and time given by the assessor team in providing constructive views and inputs. Hopefully the results of this assessment can bring blessings to all of us.”
Meanwhile, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D. as the Dean of FKIP Unram added, “We are very enthusiast to welcome the arrival of the Lamdik assessor team in the accreditation process of the Sociology Education Study Programme. And we believe that this field assessment will help us identify the strengths and weaknesses of our study programme, so that we can take the necessary steps to improve the quality of our education.”
In addition, Lamdik assessor Amika Wardana, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D. explained that they will provide a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of the study programme, including curriculum, teaching methods, academic management, and study programme achievements. This field assessment will provide input for FKIP Unram in identifying things that need to be improved and potentials that can be improved to achieve the desired quality standards.
Furthermore, the signing of the Field Assessment Implementation Statement was carried out. On the first day (29/2) of the field assessment, there was a session with the Unram leadership involving the dean and the Quality Assurance Group (GPM) of FKIP Unram. In this case, the Lamdik assessment team will confirm various macro policies related to institutional development, face-to-face systems, management systems, reported institutional achievements, and higher education development plans. Then, the team will confirm the implementation related to the results and effectiveness of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) which includes the entire cycle of Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement (PPEPP).
The second session included confirmation of data and information in the Higher Education Performance Report (LKPT) and Self Evaluation Report (LED) involving the FKIP Unram accreditation team and the Sociology Education Study Programme accreditation team. While the last session involved lecturers, education staff, alumni, and students.
Field assessment activities on the second day (1/3) included learning observations, sessions to check facilities, infrastructure, and supporting facilities, as well as independent work of the assessor team. In addition, the assessors will provide feedback and sign the report of the field assessment, as well as convey accreditation recommendations to the university.
