Unram Students Collected 2 Gold Medals at POMNAS XVII

The closing of the XVII National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) was held at the Padang State University (UNP) Auditorium, West Sumatra, on Saturday, November 26. Zainudin Amali, the Minister of Youth and Sports for the Republic of Indonesia, put an end to the XVIIth National Student Sports Week (Pomnas).
“Congratulations to West Sumatra for its successful implementation and achievements. By saying Alhamdulillah, the implementation of Pomnas XVII, which was held in Padang, West Sumatra, was officially closed,” said Zainudin.
POMNAS has been going on for 10 days, held from November 17 to 26, 2022. The Pomnas XVII event in West Sumatra features 14 sports, athletics, basketball, volleyball, futsal, pencak silat, petanque, Tarung Drajat, tennis, swimming, and sepak takraw.
Zainudin said that Pomnas is one of the events to prepare national elite athletes in an effort to achieve the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) target. In his speech, he talked about how Indonesian sports have a lot of potential to help the economy and tourism in the area.
Students of Universias Mataram (Unram) won two gold medals in the Tarung Drajat sport. The two students who won gold medals were Muhammad Sulthon Drajat from the Faculty of Engineering and Yodi Maulana Pratama from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
