Constitutional Court Judge Encourages Young Generation’s Unity Spirit Through FH Unram’s National Seminar
Mataram, University of Mataram – Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Prof. Dr. Arief Hidayat, S.H., M.S. was a guest speaker at a national seminar held by the Faculty of Law of Universitas Mataram (FH Unram) on Friday (17/11) at the Unram Dome.
The national seminar raised the theme “Restoring the Spirit of the Constitutional Court as the Guardian of the Constitution”, and was held in the framework of the 57th Anniversary of FH Unram.
In addition to the Justice of the Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Arief Hidayat, S.H., M.S., also presented Prof. Dr. Galang Asmara, S.H., M.Hum. as Professor of Constitutional Law FH Unram as a guest speaker in the national seminar.
The Vice Dean for General and Financial Affairs of FH Unram, Ari Rahmad Hakim Budiawan Firdaus, S.H., M.Hum. in his speech expressed his respect and pride for the presence of the Constitutional Court Judge in the seminar held by FH Unram.
“Hopefully we can all absorb the knowledge that will be conveyed by His Excellency Prof. Arif in this seminar. Thank you again and welcome to the University of Mataram,” he said.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si. or commonly called Prof. Nana. She explained that Unram is currently being looked at by various institutions, so there are currently many discussion spaces that can be carried out in discussing various aspects of community life, especially in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Where Unram will play a role in the midst of society to provide solutions.
“With the presence of 2 speakers, His Honor the Constitutional Court Judge and also Prof. Galang on this occasion, of course the insights that will be shared will be a new nuance. New nuances that can be used as themes for final assignments for younger students, as well as lecturers in making scientific papers, “said Prof. Nana.
“We ask Prof. Arief to be able to give us insight into how the spirit of the constitution will be in the future. And this national seminar is certainly a scientific space that we can use to discuss scientific issues,” he added.
In the main event, MK Judge Prof. Arief gave an in-depth presentation on national insight in the campus environment. In the material presented, he highlighted the importance of the role of the younger generation to maintain national unity in the midst of diversity so as not to be divided.
“Do not forget history, we can achieve independence not because we are given it but because of the struggle of the Indonesian people. It is because of the unity and strong determination of this nation that we can be independent. So the young generation today must maintain that unity,” said Prof. Arief.
He encouraged students and the academic community on campus to become active agents of change in maintaining the spirit of unity.
This seminar is a place for joint reflection on the role of students and academics in building strong national insight on campus. Prof. Arief hopes that through a better understanding of diversity and unity, the younger generation can become the main pillars in advancing Indonesia to a better direction.
