Consumer Protection Education Socialisation by FHISIP Unram: “Empowered Consumers, Golden Indonesia in Creative Economy Tourism Sector” ‌

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences (FHISIP) of University of Mataram (Unram) in collaboration with the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) of the Republic of Indonesia, organised a Socialisation of Consumer Protection Education with the theme ‘Empowered Consumers, Golden Indonesia in the Creative Economy Tourism Sector’. The socialisation was held on Tuesday (28/5) at the FHISIP Main Conference Room and was attended by a number of students.

In his remarks, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D explained that the theme raised at the event was the target of the Golden Indonesia in 2025, which must master young people who continue to understand the digital economy, especially in trade affairs.

“Of course, everything is now digitalised, especially in trade. Now in the media or online applications there are also many complaints against consumers, we consumers are also always tempted by a good appearance but after coming it does not match expectations,” said Prof. Akmaluddin.

The speakers who provided material consisted of Ir. Heru Sutadi, M.Si as Chairperson of the Communication and Education Commission, Lusiana Dwiyanti S.H., M.Kn., S.PM as a member of the Communication and Education Commission, Dadan Suparjo Suharmawijaya, S.IP., M.IP as a member of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, and Prof. dr. Kurniawan, S.H., H.Hum as a Professor.
