Encouraging the Improvement of the Conduciveness of the Democratic Party, Unram and Polda NTB Hold Public Lectures and Sign MoU
Mataram, University of Mataram – Universitas Mataram (Unram) together with the Indonesian National Police of West Nusa Tenggara Region (Polda NTB) held a public lecture related to improving the conduciveness of the democratic party entitled The Role of Campus in Maintaining the Conduciveness of the Democratic Party. The public lecture presented the NTB Police Chief Inspector General. Drs. Raden Umar Faroq, S.H., M.Hum which was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Mataram and the Polda NTB at the Senate Conference Room, Unram Rectorate on Tuesday (9/1).
Rector of Unram Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. in his speech said that this was a great honor and would be the first MoU signing history for Unram and NTB Police. Through this opportunity Unram and NTB Police are committed to working together in many aspects related to the duties of each of the two institutions.
“We are currently in a political year where we must maintain the conduciveness in NTB. Security affairs, national unity and integrity, and maintaining conduciveness are not only the business of the authorities, but our common task. No less important is the role of students in maintaining conduciveness, national unity, security, and of course let us together protect the nation,” said Prof. Bambang.
Prof. Bambang further explained that students have freedom of speech. Students have a responsible academic platform, so that in maintaining conduciveness, especially in the political year, they can always instill inherent supervision. This inherent supervision has the essence of freedom that is responsible to themselves, the country, and to God.
Prof. Bambang invites the entire academic community to put aside any differences that exist, maintain and respect each other and avoid disintegration, and always maintain conduciveness and play an active role in maintaining national unity and integrity to welcome the Golden Indonesia 2045.
Inspector General. Pol. Drs. Raden Umar Faroq, S.H., M.Hum as the Chief of Police of NTB in his speech said that through the signing of the MoU and this public lecture it can be a convenience and goodness related to what is proclaimed and mitigation related to the development of NTB and increasing human resources where the campus is the driving force for improving human resources.
“Currently we are entering the long-awaited critical period, the political year, and at this time entering the campaign period. If we do not mitigate this campaign period well, both the role of the campus, the role of the TNI and Police security forces if not mitigated properly, of course what we hope is the establishment of good democratic stability will not be established. Therefore, in the context of our visit in the framework of a public lecture at Unram, one of the main objectives is how to create a conducive situation and campus involvement in maintaining conduciveness in the NTB Police range, ” said The Chief Police of NTB
The Chief of Police of NTB at the end of his speech said that this opportunity was an honor because he was given the opportunity to share related to the role of the campus in maintaining the conduciveness of the democratic party so that the Unram academic community had an important role in creating a conducive situation in the 2024 Presidential and Legislative Elections.
