Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) held a Workshop on the Formulation of Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies in Developing Unram’s Strategic Plan 2025-2030 at the Senate Conference Room on Thursday (25/7). The event was attended by various internal and external stakeholders and was held with enthusiasm and collaborative spirit.

Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. in his speech while opening the event emphasized that Unram continues to improve.

“Unram continues to improve and one of the things we improve is Unram’s vision, mission, goals, and strategies,” said Unram’s Rector.

Unram’s previous vision was considered less relevant where Unram’s previous vision of “Becoming a Research-Based and Internationally Competitive Higher Education Institution in 2025” was changed to “Becoming an Excellent and Globally Competitive Higher Education Institution”.

The Rector of Unram admitted that he received a lot of input and criticism regarding Unram’s vision which only focuses on research.

“There are those who openly criticize why Unram only focuses on research. There are also those who ask why Unram only focuses on research when there are other aspects in Tri Dharma,” he concluded.

The Unram Rector further explained that he had received a lot of insights in the process of drafting the vision. The declaration of Unram’s new vision was held on July 14, 2024 at Mandalika. According to Prof. Bambang, the selection of the location was based on Mandalika which has gone global, so it is hoped that Mandalika’s global spirit will be carried over and participate in Unram’s new vision.

“Through this workshop, we ask for your help to be able to provide input and suggestions to us for the preparation of missions, goals, and strategies,” said Prof. Bambang.
