First Batch of Pharmacists Oath Taking, FKIK Unram Inaugurates 20 New Pharmacists
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Mataram (FKIK Unram) has carried out the 1st Batch of Pharmacist Oath Taking event at the dr. Yunita Sabrina hall, FKIK Unram on Wednesday (18/9).
This pharmacist oath taking was the first pharmacist oath conducted at Unram with 100% graduation results. The average passing score of the pharmacists reached 69,4 which surpassed the national average score of 59,1.
A total of 20 students who have passed the national pharmacist competency exam were inaugurated through a pharmacist oath taking procession attended by several important stakeholders. The Dean of FKIK Unram, Dr. dr. Afri Syamsun, Sp. KF., M.Si.Med. directly inaugurated the new pharmacists.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si.; West Nusa Tenggara Health Office; representatives of IAI members; West Nusa Tenggara BPOM Office; directors of hospitals, health centres, and partner pharmacies; and parents/carers of the newly appointed pharmacists.
In his remarks, the Dean of FKIK Unram, dr. Arfi expressed his hope for the new pharmacists, “These pharmacists will serve as pharmacists in various health facilities as the frontline in providing health services for the community. I am confident that the pharmacists can carry out their duties with utmost professionalism.”
Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nana, saw that pharmacists currently have many opportunities to provide services and education related to pharmacy to the community.
“Pharmacists are not only required to provide comprehensive services to patients. Pharmacists must be able to become superior and integrated individuals in the field of health services so that pharmacists can be good partners of doctors, able to educate and explain how medicine is produced, how to use medicines, the side effects of medicine, and help maintain national health,” she said.
The inauguration and oath taking ceremony was not only a moment of emotion and celebration, but also an important momentum as a new pharmacist for FKIK Unram in improving the quality of health services in the NTB region and Indonesia.
