FKIP (Teacher Training and Education) Unram and SEAMEO CECCEP Collaborated and Held Public Lecture: Educational Reform in the Revolutionary Era 4.0

Mataram, Universitas Mataram – Universitas Mataram Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP Unram) held a public lecture entitled “Education Reform in the Revolutionary Era 4.0” (Education Reform in the Revolutionary Era 4.0) at the Dome Building, Unram on Monday (29/8) , with 2 international professors as presenters.

This public lecture is a form of collaboration between the PGSD and PG PAUD Study Programs at FKIP Unram with SEAMEO CECCEP (Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting). And also attended by Prof. Vina Adriany, M.Ed., Ph.D. as Director of SEAMEO CECCEP.

Prof. Dr. A. Wahab Jufri, M.Sc. as the Dean of FKIP Unram admitted that he was surprised and at the same time appreciated the enthusiasm of FKIP Unram students in attending this public lecture. There were more than 500 students attending, exceeding the seat capacity in the Unram Dome Building. This was also appreciated by the presenters, who previously only thought that there would be around 50 students attending.

“As we all know that in the future we will face a situation after the Covid-19 pandemic, where everything in this world will change rapidly. So we have to prepare ourselves for that. And we want to encourage you to pay attention to information, ideas, and also capture the mindset of our two visiting professors from developed countries,” said the Dean of FKIP Unram.

Prof. Wahab hopes that the results of this public lecture can be implemented in the future not only by students, but also by lecturers to develop early childhood education.

Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Agusdin, S.E., MBA., DBA., gave a speech and opened the event. He expressed his desire to collaborate with the home universities of the two professors who were the resource persons.

“In accordance with the vision of the University of Mataram to become a research-based and internationally competitive university in 2025. I expect the willingness of Prof. Hiroyuki Miyake and Prof. Marek Tesar, Ph.D. to help Unram and willing to become Adjunct Professor (professor of foreign partners-ed). And to link the collaboration between Unram and Kitakyushu University and Auckland University,” said Agusdin.

 

The collaboration referred to by Vice Chancellor 1 is in the form of joint research and student exchange programs. He hoped that if there is an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in the future, it can be an opportunity for collaboration between faculties, study programs, and lecturers.

Furthermore, the main event of this public lecture was filled by Prof. Hiroyuki Miyake from The University of Kitakyushu, Japan with the material “Implementation of SDGs in Environmental Education”. And the second material was presented by Prof. Marek Tesar, Ph.D. from Auckland University, New Zealand with the material “Early Childhood Education in Aotearoa New Zealand: Opportunities and Challenges”.

This public lecture is one of a series of “ACECEP” International Conferences which will be held for 3 days from 30 August 2022 to 1 September 2022.
