Gebyar Sayembara PKM Unram: Realizing Creativity Towards Pimnas 2025
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) successfully held the Student Creativity Program (PKM) Proposal Competition on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Unram Dome Building attended by hundreds of students.
The Head of the PKM Competition Committee as well as the Head of Unram PKM Management, Drs. Jackson Siahaan, M.Pd. in his report revealed that the competition had received a total of 120 proposals, marking the enthusiasm and great participation of Unram students.
“Hopefully this event will be a good momentum for us to increase the acceptance of PKM proposals at Unram,” said Jackson.
Furthermore, Drs. Jackson mentioned that this event aims to find the best proposals in a relatively short time. “This is an important milestone to stimulate an increase in the number of PKM proposals for 2025. So, start dreaming to be able to participate in Pimnas at Unhas next year. Be serious in working on PKM proposals, and instill in yourself that you can achieve Pimnas,” he said with enthusiasm.
In this event, Unram’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Sujita, ST, MT, also gave an inspiring speech. Dr. Sujita emphasized the importance of student achievement to strengthen Unram’s image at the national level.
“You are fighters who will make achievements and have a positive influence on improving Unram’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU),” he said.
Dr. Sujita added that student achievements, especially through PKM, also support Unram’s transformation towards a world-class university, as well as preparing Unram to become a State University with Legal Status (PTN BH).
“PKM must be supported by all parties. Both students and supervisors, we should give appreciation for their efforts and creativity,” added Dr. Sujita.
Unram PKM Competition participants came from various faculties with a striking distribution of proposals. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) had the most with 33 proposals, followed by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) with 28 proposals. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) submitted 15 proposals, while the Faculty of Engineering (FT) contributed 19 proposals.
The Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry (Fatepa) submitted 8 proposals, the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) sent 7 proposals, and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP) each submitted 4 proposals. The Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet) submitted 2 proposals.
The assessment of PKM proposals is based on several important aspects, including creativity of ideas, originality, depth of literature, methodology, contribution to science and technology, hypothesis accuracy, benefits, schedule, and budget plan (RAB).
Proposals are divided into various categories, such as: PKM-Exact Research (PKM-RE); PKM-Social Humanities Research (PKM-RSH); PKM-Entrepreneurship (PKM-K); PKM-Community Service (PKM-PM); PKM-Application of Science and Technology (PKM-PI); PKM- Creative Initiative (PKM-KC); PKM-Innovative Work (PKM-KI); PKM-Video Constructive Ideas (PKM-VGK); PKM- Futuristic Written Ideas (PKM-GFT); PKM-Scientific Articles (PKM-AI).
The PKM Proposal Competition is an event to hone the creativity and abilities of Unram students. The 120 proposals collected gave Unram a sense of optimism in the National Student Science Week (Pimnas) in 2025.
With the spirit that continues to rise, Gebyar Sayembara PKM Proposal is expected to be a stepping stone for more brilliant achievements for Unram students to continue to innovate and excel.
