International Collaboration between FKIP Unram and SEAMEO SEAQIL: Successfully Hold Joint Conference
Mataram, University of Mataram – On October 2-3, 2024, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of the University of Mataram (Unram) held an international Joint Conference at Aruna Senggigi Hotel, Lombok.
This event is a combination of the Annual International Conference FKIP Unram, The 6th International Conference on Education and Social Sciences (ICESS), and The 15th Annual International Symposium of Foreign Language Learning (AISOFOLL), in collaboration with the SEAMEO Regional Center for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel (QITEP) in Language (SEAQIL).
The joint conference was attended by over 150 participants from 13 countries, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, USA, and Vietnam. The event also featured 9 keynote speakers and 4 invited speakers.
The event was opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of Unram, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between countries in improving the quality of education.
In addition, the report was delivered by the Head of the Committee, Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, M.Pd., and the Director of SEAMEO SEAQIL, Dr. Brian Arieska Pranata, who expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between Unram and SEAMEO SEAQIL.
On the same occasion, the Dean of FKIP Unram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si, Ph.D., signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Director of SEAMEO SEAQIL, Dr. Brian Arieska Pranata. Furthermore, the Head of English Education Study Program, Dr. Arafik, M.Hum., and the Head of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Dr. Saharudin, M.A., also signed the Implementation of Agreement (IoA) as part of the commitment in implementing language education cooperation within FKIP Unram.
This activity is an important momentum for FKIP Unram in expanding international networks as well as improving the quality of education and research in the social and language fields through collaboration with various participating countries.
