KKN PMD and Village Development Synergy: Unram 2024 Talk Show with a Focus on Blue, Green, Creative Economy and Independent Health
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Research and Community Service Institute of the University of Mataram (LPPM Unram), held a National Seminar with the theme Exploring Village Potential through KKN PMD to Generate Blue, Green, Creative and Independent Health Economies. This activity was held online through Zoom Meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
This seminar aims to explore and maximize village potential through the Community Service Program (KKN) for Village Community Empowerment (PMD). With a focus on the development of blue, green, creative, and independent health economies, this seminar became a foothold in fostering new insights and practical strategies for sustainable village development.
On this occasion, the Head of LPPM Unram, Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, ST., MT.IPU, was present; accompanied by the Head of the Committee, Andre Rachmat Scabra, S.Pi, M.Si.; Secretary of KKN Services, Dr. Ni Wayan Sri Suliartini, S.P., MP; Head of General Subdivision, Roni Paslan, S.Adm.; and all KKN management staff.
The National Seminar presented speakers including: Prof. Dr. Ir. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si. (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Unram), Lukman Awaludin, S.Si., M.Cs. (Lecturer at Gajah Mada University), Drs. Jeckson Siahaan, M.Pd. ( Unram PKM Supervisor), and Ir. Ramadhaniati (Director of LP2M West Sumatra).
Kicking off the withdrawal events, the Head of the Committee, Andre Rachmat Scabra, S.Pi, M.Si. reported, “The National Seminar Gelar Wicara Unram 2024 is the eighth time we have organized since 2020. During this period, we have committed to continue presenting in-depth and meaningful forums for village development through various KKN PMD programs.”
“We are extremely proud to report that since the implementation of KKN PMD, both in the regular and MBKM schemes, 132 articles have been collected as a result of various programs and activities conducted in the villages. This result not only shows the dedication of our students, but also the positive impact they have given to the village community and the enhancement of the university’s reputation,” Andre continued.
Head of the Center for Cooperation and KKN, Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, ST., MT.IPU, in his remarks said, “ The National Seminar is an important platform to share knowledge and experience in empowering villages through KKN PMD. We hope this event can inspire all parties to collaborate in creating more sustainable and independent villages.”
Dr. Misbahuddin emphasized, “Villages have huge potential as pillars of national development. In the framework of sustainable development, villages are a crucial foundation for creating inclusive and equitable growth.”
“KKN PMD activities also play an important role in encouraging sustainable village economic growth. We believe that village economic development must be in line with the principles of environmental sustainability. With various projects and initiatives implemented by students, KKN PMD can help solve various problems faced by village communities and recommendations for relevant policy makers,” said Dr. Misbahuddin.
The KKN PMD program allows students to collaborate directly with village communities in designing and implementing programs aimed at improving community welfare and empowerment. These include small business development, education programs, and health initiatives. By utilizing academic expertise and practical skills, Unram plays a vital role in supporting government programs for rural community empowerment and economic growth.
The KKN PMD program provides an effective bridge between academic theory and field practice, allowing students to make significant direct contributions to village development and community welfare.
The 2024 Unram National Seminar can be a momentum for the realization of stronger, independent and sustainable villages through synergies between education, community and economic development.
