Mataram, University of Mataram – The Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP) of the University of Mataram (Unram) held a workshop on the Alignment of Study Program Curricula Based on Higher Education Curriculum Guidelines on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Golden Palace Hotel, Mataram.
The workshop was attended by various Unram leaders, including the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, the Head of the Senate and the Senate Academic Commission, as well as the Vice Deans for Academic Affairs of the Faculties and Heads of Study Programs.
The event was opened with a briefing from the Head of LPMPP, Dr. Ir. Sitti Latifah, M.Sc.F., IPU. In her speech, she conveyed the importance of curriculum alignment in the middle of changing global needs and demands of higher education.
“This curriculum alignment is an important step for us to ensure that Unram graduates are ready to face the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world of work,” said Sitti Latifah.
The Head of Unram Senate, Prof. Dr. Agil Al Idrus, M.Si., in his speech emphasized that the curriculum is a very important part of the education system.
“This curriculum is a very important part. As a system, the curriculum cannot stand alone, but needs the involvement of stakeholders who play an active role,” explained Prof. Agil.
He also added the importance of equalizing perceptions between all parties involved regarding curriculum alignment, including the use of homogeneous applications.
“The applications we use for curriculum management and evaluation must be homogeneous to facilitate the evaluation and monitoring process,” he added.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, in her remarks as well as officially opening the event, said that this workshop aims to build collaboration across study programs and faculties to create a curriculum that is adaptive to industry needs.
“We cannot walk alone in building the curriculum. Synergy between faculties, study programs, and other units is needed so that the curriculum produced is in accordance with the Higher Education Curriculum Guidelines and can be implemented optimally,” she said.
In addition, this curriculum alignment is also based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbudristek) No. 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education. This Permendikbud regulates the graduate competency standards that must be achieved by each study program, so that the curriculum must include the development of skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are in accordance with the demands of the world of work and society.
This workshop presented two expert speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Yulin Lestari from IPB University, who presented the material “Transformation of the International Standard Higher Education Curriculum”, and Prof. Dr. Ir.
