LPPM Unram Highlights Technology Disruption and Inclusivity for Global Society in International Seminar on Social Science
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Research and Community Service Institute of the University of Mataram (LPPM Unram) successfully organized the International Seminar on Social Sciences with the theme “Technological Disruption and Inclusivity for Global Society.” The event took place on October 24-25, 2024 and was attended by various academics, researchers, and practitioners from domestic and overseas.
Unram as the host collaborated with Universitas Utara Malaysia and Universitas Brawijaya as co-hosts. This seminar aims to discuss the impact of technological disruption on global society and the importance of inclusiveness in facing these challenges. The seminar was filled with keynote sessions from experts in the fields of social science and technology, as well as panel discussions that addressed various aspects of technological disruption including its impact on education, economy, and culture. Participants also had the opportunity to present their research, which covered various perspectives on inclusivity in the digital era.
The speakers in this activity included L. M. Hayyan Ul Haq, SH, LLM, Ph.D. (Unram); Prof. Dr. Stefan Koos (Universitat der Bundeswehr, Munich); Prof. Aldona Glińska-Neweś (Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland); Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Na’eim Ajis (Universiti Utara Malaysia).
Mega Nisfa Makhroja, S.IP., M.Si., MA. as the head of the committee revealed the importance of international collaboration in dealing with complex social issues. “This seminar is a platform for researchers to share knowledge and experience, and find innovative solutions that can be applied in society,” she said.
The seminar is expected to not only strengthen academic networks between institutions, but also produce policy recommendations that can support the government and stakeholders in responding to technological disruption in an inclusive manner.
Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr. said in his speech “I am extremely proud of the collaboration between Unram, Universitas Utara Malaysia, and Universitas Brawijaya which not only presents article presentations from lecturers and researchers, but also involves students through poster and essay competitions.
“This initiative serves as a platform to strengthen synergy between institutions and encourage active student participation, while supporting the achievement of Unram’s Main Performance Indicators (IKU). Through this, we are committed to achieving Unram’s vision as an institution that is globally competitive and has a positive impact on the development of science and society,” said Prof. Sukartono.
The high enthusiasm of the seminar participants was seen in the discussions that took place in each session. They emphasized the importance of collaboration between various disciplines to create more effective and sustainable solutions.
Unram hopes that this activity can become a routine agenda and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a center for scientific research and discussion at the international level.
