LPPM Unram Optimises Scientific Journal Governance for National and International Accreditation ‌

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Institute for Research and Community Service of the University of Mataram (LPPM Unram) held a Workshop on Assistance and Improvement of Scientific Journal Governance Towards National and International Accreditation on Monday (3/6/2024) in the Senate Meeting Room of the Unram Rectorate.

 

This workshop aims to improve the quality of scientific journals managed by Unram in order to meet national and international accreditation standards. This activity was attended by journal managers in Unram.

 

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Guyup Mahardian Dwi Putra, STP., M.Si. in his report emphasised that in the current era of globalisation, scientific publications in the form of national and international journals have a very important role for the progress and development of science.

 

“Currently, University of Mataram has 56 scientific journals with various levels of accreditation: 4 journals accredited in Sinta 2, 9 journals accredited in Sinta 3, 16 journals accredited in Sinta 4, 10 journals accredited in Sinta 5, 2 journals accredited in Sinta 6, and 15 journals not yet accredited,” he explained.

 

Also present on this occasion is the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si. who was accompanied by the Secretary of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP.

 

Prof. Nana revealed the importance of this workshop in order to improve the quality of scientific journals in Unram.

 

“The quality of scientific journals reflects the quality of research and science at a university. Therefore, we must make maximum efforts to improve journal governance to comply with national and international standards,” said Prof. Nana.

 

This workshop presented Prof. Dr. Ade Gafar Abdullah, M.Si. as a keynote speaker. He is the Chief Editor of Indonesian Journal of Science and Technology (IJoST) and a lecturer at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

 

In his presentation, he explained important points related to the management of Sinta-accredited national journals, preparation strategies for Scopus-indexed international journals, and journal financial governance management.

 

Through this workshop, it is hoped that the quality of journals in Unram can be improved so that the journal ranking will be better.
