Higher education as part of the national education system has a strategic role in educating the nation’s life and advancing science and technology by giving attention to and applying humanities values as well as civilizing and empowering the Indonesian sustainably. In order to improve the nation’s competitiveness to face globalization in all fields, higher education is required to develop science and technology and produce intellectuals, scientists, and / or professionals who are cultured and creative, tolerant, democratic, strong character, and courage to defend the truth for the benefit of the nation.
Therefore, universities have an obligation to carry out education, research and community service as outlined in the Tri Dharma in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 20 of 2003 article 20 paragraph 2 concerning the National Education System and Law Number 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education.
In order to realize these goals, increasing research capacity is absolutely necessary. The lack of scientific papers of lecturers accepted in accredited national journals and international journals is thought to be caused by the lack of ability and lack of encouragement of lecturers to conduct research.
Prof. Aris explained, “This training workshop on the preparation of research and community service proposals really needs to be encouraged as one of the strategies to produce competent output-oriented research and service proposals.”
Furthermore, the professor of FKIP Unram emphasized, “Collaborations like this need to be continued so that it is hoped that lecturers, especially at Universitas 45 Mataram, have better writing skills and can qualify for research competitions funded by the government or institutionally from Upatma.”
In an attempt to support the implementation of collaboration between universities to improve the quality and quantity of research and community service, as well as adjusting strategies, policy directions, and programs to the national standards of higher education, especially research standards and community service standards, LPPM Unram has a focus and commitment in creating an atmosphere of university collaboration to produce research that will become a solution and innovation in the midst of community needs and challenges, and the results of the research can be down streamed through community service.
