LPPM Unram Workshop Assesses Strengthening Internal Governance
Mataram, University of Mataram – Research and Community Service Institute of Universitas Mataram (LPPM Unram) held a Workshop on Strengthening Internal Governance. This activity took place in the Main Conference Room of LPPM Unram on Monday (24/6/24) and was attended by all ASN, BLU, and Contract employees.
On this occasion, the Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr. was present, accompanied by the Secretary of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP. and Head of General Subdivision, Roni Paslan, S.Adm.
Governance is a systematic attempt in a process to achieve organizational goals, through management principles that include planning, implementation, control, and evaluation functions. Thus governance has the main objective, to implement benefits, reduce the occurrence of risks, and optimize the resources owned.
Good LPPM governance and internal management require a clear division of roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders. It also refers to the processes and structures implemented to ensure that the organization is well managed. It requires a willingness to adjust strategies and processes as needed to ensure the long-term success of the institution.
Starting the activity, the Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Sukartono explained that, “The Workshop on Improving the Quality of Human Resources and Governance of Research and Community Service at LPPM University of Mataram is expected to improve quality and service, and become a forum for collaboration between academics, practitioners, and related parties in advancing research and community service. With high enthusiasm and good cooperation, it is hoped that LPPM University of Mataram can continue to play an active role in producing innovations and solutions to various problems faced by the community.”
This workshop is also an internal reflection for LPPM Unram to maximize all programs and timelines that have been planned in the RKKL, which includes all programs that are the responsibility of the institution. The entire activity program agenda for 2024 was discussed comprehensively.
Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP. as Secretary of LPPM Unram added, “Internal governance and management as an attempt to ensure that the programs that will and are being implemented by LPPM University of Mataram can have a real impact on society and meet existing needs.”
In closing the activity, the Head of the General Subdivision, Roni Paslan, S.Adm. concluded that, “Strengthening internal management is a driving force for professional, efficient and effective management of institutions, as well as empowering functions and increasing the independence of institutional organs.”
Governance will be implemented properly if it has a conducive organizational culture, and establishes management functions properly, and implemented continuously with each other.
