National Seminar Gelar Wicara: Sustainable Strategies in Empowering Village Communities Based on Potentials and Problems

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Research and Community Service Institute of the University of Mataram (LPPM Unram) successfully held the 9th Gelar Wicara National Seminar on Thursday, February 20, 2025 through online. The seminar with the theme “Sustainable Village Community Empowerment Based on Potential and Problems” was attended by students and supervisors of activities and speakers from various universities in Indonesia.

On this occasion, the Secretary of LPPM Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP. accompanied by the Head of the Committee Andre Rachmat Scabra, S.Pi., M.Si; Head of the Center for Cooperation and KKN Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, ST., MT.IPU.; Secretary of the Center for Cooperation and KKN Suprayanti Martia Dewi, SP., M.Si.; Head of General Subdivision Roni Paslan, S.Adm. Center for Cooperation and KKN LPPM Unram.

Andre Rachmat Scabra, S.Pi., M.Si. as the Head of the Committee in his report said that this activity is a routine agenda that is held twice a year, including plenary sessions and paper presentations. The event was attended by 2,131 students in 213 villages, producing 237 articles derived from KKN-PMD programs, both in regular and MBKM schemes. The implementation of this activity is part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service, and is expected to make a significant contribution to the economic growth of the community.

Secretary of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP, in his speech said that this seminar is a forum for students and Supervising Lecturers (DPK) to share knowledge and experience to face challenges in the era of globalization. “We hope that through this seminar, participants can gain new insights and establish useful collaborations for the development of science and technology,” he said.

The seminar presented a number of prominent speakers in their fields, Prof. Dr. Agil Al Idrus, M.Si.; Arif Mulyanto, S.T., M.T. from Unram, Sugiarto, S.Kom, M.Kom. from UPN Veteran East Java and Dr. Imam Indratno, S.T., M.T. from Bandung Islamic University.

In this seminar, participants actively discussed and exchanged ideas in various panel sessions that discussed current issues related to Green Economy, Blue Economy and Digital Marketing. Moreover, the seminar also provided an opportunity for students to present the results of their KKN in parallel sessions.

One of the seminar participants, Noviana, stated that the seminar was highly beneficial in broadening her horizons and adding to her professional network. “I get a lot of new perspectives that I can apply in community service in the future,” she said.

With the successful implementation of this seminar, Unram is committed to continuing to organize quality academic activities that are beneficial to the world of education and industry. This National Seminar is expected to be an inspiration for students and Supervising Lecturers to continue to work and innovate.
