National Seminar of FKIK Unram: Build Awareness and Reproductive Health Education
Mataram, University of Mataram – National Seminar of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Mataram (FKIK Unram) this year carries the theme “Empowering Productive Health: Building Awareness and Reproductive Health Education” aims to build awareness of the Indonesian society about the importance of maintaining reproductive health. The national seminar was held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Dome of Unram and was attended by over 250 participants from NTB and outside the NTB province.
This national seminar began with a speech by the Chief Executive, Siti Raodatul Jannah Tunairin; then continued by the President of BEM-KM FKIK Unram, Syihabul Muttaqin; Head of DPM FKIK Unram, Teguh Budi Wicaksono; and Dean of FKIK Unram, Dr. dr. Arfi Syamsun, Sp.KF, M.Si.Med.
The closing remarks given online by the 3rd Vice Dean of FKIK Unram, Dr. dr. Rifana Cholidah, who expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants and the committee in organizing this event and invited all participants to actively participate and utilize this seminar as a forum for learning and sharing knowledge.
The presentation of the main material entitled “How to Reduce the Incidence and Mortality Rate of Cervical Cancer” was presented by Dr. Muhammad Yusuf, SpOG, Subsp.Onk. In his presentation, Dr. Muhammad Yusuf explained about the importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, as well as various strategies that can be implemented to reduce the incidence and mortality rates due to this disease. The material presented received great attention from the participants, which was seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in the discussion session related to the topic raised.
The event continued with a short talk show which presents the Chair of IDI of Mataram City branch as well as the Head of Mataram City Health Office, dr. H. Emirald Isfihan, MARS., MH., CMC., FISQua and dr. Marisa Syafitri Dilaga, MPH.
This talk show raised the title “Increasing the Role of Doctors and Students in Family Planning Advocacy”. In this discussion, the speakers discussed in depth about effective strategies in reproductive health education and the importance of cooperation between doctors, students, and the community in increasing awareness and implementation of family planning programs. The interactive talk show provided many new insights for the participants.
The national seminar went smoothly and lively. With high enthusiasm from the participants, the event ended with an interactive question and answer session, group photos, and awarding certificates to the speakers.
With the end of this seminar, it is hoped that all participants can apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives and help spread awareness about the importance of reproductive health to the wider community.
