Offering Cooperation, Unram Welcomes Visit from the Mayor of Taketa Japan
Mataram, Universitas Mataram – Universitas Mataram (Unram) received a visit from the Mayor of Taketa Japan on Monday (1/7) at the Rector’s Conference Room, Rectorate of Unram. The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, as well as the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering warmly welcomed the arrival of the group from the Mayor of Taketa Japan.
The Mayor of Taketa Japan, Masahiro Doi, said that the purpose of this visit was to establish cooperation in order to improve or overcome the birth rate to meet the needs of employees for companies in Taketa City.
“This program was implemented due to the consideration that the birth rate is decreasing in Japan while the number of old people is increasing. Departing from this, the Taketa City government seeks to meet the needs of employees for companies in Taketa City. Therefore, the Taketa City government invited Unram to work together and Unram sent several students to do internships in several companies in Taketa City, “he said.
On the other hand, Prof. Bambang as the Rector of Unram advised that the candidates prepared were the best candidates so that in the future the cooperation could continue.
“The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering is expected to choose the best candidates who are hardworking, have a good work ethic, and good ethics to ensure that the cooperation can continue in the future. Previously, Unram had also sent two agricultural students, both of whom adapted quickly and spoke good English. Because of these testimonials, the city government is considering recruiting employees from Unram,” he said.
Furthermore, a discussion was held to discuss follow-up cooperation from the MoU that was signed on May 23, 2023. There is a new program offered by Taketa City, an internship for Unram students, especially the Civil Engineering Study Program in the field of 3D modeling. In addition, this discussion also discussed the potential for cooperation with other faculties or study programs that are suitable for the scope of cooperation.
