Mataram, Universitas Mataram – In order to celebrate the 62nd Dies Natalis of the University of Mataram (Unram), a blood donation activity with the theme “One Drop of Blood Gives Hope for All” was held on Saturday, (26/10) at the Lobby of the Unram Rectorate. This activity was greeted enthusiastically by the Unram academic community who were present to donate blood as a form of concern for blood supply in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The Person in Charge of Social Service Activities, Dr. Hadian Rahman, Sp.B., M.Ked.Klin., in his speech highlighted the importance of blood donation activities as a response to the lack of blood stock availability in blood banks, especially in NTB.

“ A lot of people still have to find donors through WhatsApp groups, and this is an indication that the blood stock in our blood bank in NTB is still very much lacking,” he said. He added that blood availability is crucial, especially in emergency situations such as accidents and major operations that require immediate transfusion.

Agustono Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc. as the Head of the 62nd Unram Dies Natalis Committee also expressed his gratitude to all committees and parties who have supported the success of this event, as well as donors who have been willing to donate their blood.

“I would like to thank the donors who are willing to donate their blood today. We hope that the drop of blood given can benefit the people of NTB and become charity for the donor,” said Agustono.

The enthusiasm of Unram students, lecturers, and education staff was evident in the implementation of this event. The presence and contribution of various elements of the campus showed a high spirit of solidarity within Unram, especially in supporting humanitarian programs such as blood donation.

With a drop of blood donated, Unram emphasizes that increasing age is an opportunity to continue to spread kindness, every drop of blood given is a symbol of concern for the health and safety of the entire community.
