Optimization of Local Potential: Unram, Unjem, Undikma, and UGR Collaborate Through Collaborative KKN to Address Community Problems
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) along with University of Jember (Unjem), Mandalika University of Education (Undikma), and Gunung Rinjani University (UGR) have held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on October 9, 2024, to knit collaboration in community service programs through the intervention of Real Work Study (KKN) students. The event was held in the Main Conference Room of LPPM Unram and was attended by the Heads of LPPM, lecturers and KKN managers from each university.
In this activity, Pjs. Head of LPPM Unram, Dr. Ir. Ni Wayan Sri Suliartini, SP., MP; Head of Research Center, Prof. Ir. Buan Anshari, ST., M.Sc.(Eng)., Ph.D.; Roni Paslan, S.Adm. as General Head of LPPM Unram.
On the other hand, from Unjem, the Head of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Yuli Witono, S.TP., M.P.; Head of LPPM Undikma, Prof. Dr. Akhmad Sukri, M.Pd.; and Head of LPPM UGR, Dr. Karomi, S.Pd., M.Pd.
This FGD aims to optimize the implementation of the KKN program by involving students in real solutions to problems faced by the community. In her speech, the Acting Head of LPPM Unram, Dr. Ir. Ni Wayan Sri Suliartini, SP, MP, revealed the importance of collaboration between universities to create greater impact in community service.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to share experiences, knowledge, and resources to support the optimization of potential in addressing community problems,” she said.
During the discussion, participants addressed various themes, including the development of innovative KKN programs, training for students, and strategies for evaluating the impact of the program. The head of LPPM Unjem emphasized the importance of a research-based approach in every intervention carried out by students.
“KKN is not only about service, but also a learning tool for students to understand the existing social dynamics,” he said.
Undikma and UGR also expressed their commitment to contribute in designing KKN programs that can empower local communities, through Collaborative KKN. “This collaboration is a good first step to formulate more structured and sustainable KKN activities,” said the Head of LPPM Undikma, Dr. Prof. Dr. Akhmad Sukri, M.Pd.
In conclusion, the FGD participants agreed to form a working team that will formulate concrete action plans and ensure the implementation of this collaboration runs smoothly. It is hoped that, through this synergy, students can make a real and sustainable contribution to the community, as well as improve the quality of their service.
Thus, this collaboration is not only a strategic step for educational institutions, but also a form of social responsibility in facing the challenges that exist in society.
