Parents Behind the UTBK Test: Supporting Children to Reach Their Dream University
Mataram, University of Mataram – The National Selection Based Test (SNBT) Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) first wave at the UTBK center at the University of Mataram (Unram) on Tuesday (30/4) shows the enthusiasm of parents who take part and support their children in the UTBK test.
The struggle to be able to pass the dream university is in fact not only shown by the applicants, but also the parents. One of them was shown by Mrs. Khasanah and her family who fully participated in delivering Najla Imtinanim Khalda to the UTBK test.
An-Nisa Tigna Qhorin, Najla’s older sister, revealed that her sister has a background as a boarding school student who only majored in languages.
“Her background is from a boarding school where the only major is language, so entering Unram, for example, is very difficult, most of them are accepted in the PGSD major, the language department or other majors with a teaching background. Majors such as statistics or social politics are difficult to enter,” said Tigna.
Najla Imtinanim Khalda herself chose the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) and the Statistics Study Program at Unram as her preferred study programs in the UTBK test.
Furthermore, Tigna explained that her sister had just been discharged from the hospital after suffering from dengue fever (DBD) so that her preparation for the UTBK exam was relatively limited. Coming from Gubuk Baru Sub-Village, Tanjung Village, North Lombok Regency, did not prevent Tigna and her family from directly participating in providing support to the UTBK location.
As a parent, Khasanah hopes that her child can pass the exam successfully because Najla admits that she is motivated by her sister’s failure to be able to study at Unram and wants to prove that she is able to enter her family’s dream campus.
“We hope that she can successfully pass the UTBK test because it is her dream to study at Unram,” she concluded.
