Mataram, University of Mataram – In the preliminary round of MTQMN 2023 which lasted for 3 days, starting from November 5 to 7, the Syarhil Quran Team of the University of Mataram (Unram) Caravan managed to amaze the judges and successfully qualified for the final round.

Syarhil Qur’an is a competition that focuses on conveying the messages of the Qur’an in a harmonious way, combining recitation, poetry, and harmonious translation. In each team, there are three participants who have their respective roles: verse reader, poetization/translation, and revealer of the meaning in the Qur’an.

Unram’s syarhil team consists of three students, Dina Aulani, Puput Melati, and Fazriati. They will compete in the finals along with five other teams, including teams from Jambi University, Padang State University, Malang University, Jakarta State University, and Surabaya State University.

The syarhil team showed a stunning performance with the theme “The Role of the Young Generation in Determining the Direction of the Nation’s Goals”. They passed after successfully competing with 111 teams from major universities under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). This is an extraordinary achievement for the Unram Caravan in the 2023 MTQMN event.

The coach of the Unram syarhil team, Nuzla Af’idatur Robbaniyyah, S.Si., M.Sc. felt very happy for this achievement, “Alhamdulillah, the feeling is happy, seeing many competitors with good quality. We are still given the opportunity and mandate to continue to the next round”.

As a coach, he also hoped, “hopefully the team can perform optimally, deliver smoothly and then be able to convey wholeheartedly so that it can be accepted by the heart, not only conveying messages in the Koran but also being a reminder for us and all spectators at the location of the match later”.

He also said that the preparation was quite mature, even though they only got the theme last night (7/11) at 10 o’clock, and had to perform today (8/11) at 8.30 in the morning. The coach has monitored the personnel one by one and just pray that it will go smoothly.

Dina, one of the personnel of the syarhil team, expressed her happiness, “this is the first time I cried because I was happy”.

“Considering our struggle is not as easy as people might think, starting from compiling the text we independently compile unlike other people who get it from the coach, our coach directs it is better to compile it yourself because it is easier to remember,” added Dina.

Although the team’s preparation is relatively short, Dina still hopes that her team can give the best performance, the maximum performance possible in the final round. Dina and her team will perform in the final round with the theme of nationalism in the concept of the Qur’an.

In addition to the syarhil team, the Unram caravan still has hopes in the Qur’an Writing and Qur’an Application Design competitions which have also successfully passed the presentation stage and are currently waiting for the announcement of the results. Hopefully the Unram caravan can achieve proud achievements.
