Rector of Unram Welcomes Indonesia-Australia Red Meat and Cattle Partnership Delegations
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Rector of Universitas Mataram (Unram), Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. accompanied by the Head of the Office of International Affairs, Prof. Dahlanuddin, M. Rur.Sc., Ph.D. warmly welcomed the visit of the Indonesia-Australia Red Meat and Cattle Partnership (RMCP) Delegation in an event held at Meathyme Beef and Pasta on Friday, May 31, 2024. This visit is part of the cooperation program between Unram and RMCP that has been running for the past few years.
The RMCP delegation consisted of 27 people including Dr. Laura Timmins, Co-chair of RMCP, Dane Roberts from the Australian Embassy, representatives of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia, and also attended the President Director of PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam, Dicky Adiwoso.
The activity began with the delegation (RMCP) visited the location of the Unram and RMCP cooperation program, followed by lunch with the main menu of lamtoro beef steak which is a superior innovation of Unram’s research results funded by the Australian and New Zealand Governments. On this occasion, the lamtoro beef steak received high appreciation from the RMCP delegates.
In his speech, Prof. Bambang expressed his gratitude to the Australian Government and to all parties involved in the Unram and RMCP cooperation program, and hoped that there would be other collaborations between RMCP and Unram. Furthermore, the Rector of Unram emphasized the importance of international cooperation in developing the livestock and agriculture sector in Indonesia.
“The RMCP program will end soon, but we hope there will be other cooperation programs from the Australian Government that involve Unram in the future,” concluded Prof. Bambang.
This visit marks an important moment in the history of cooperation between Unram and RMCP, and demonstrates the commitment of both parties in supporting innovation and sustainable development of the livestock sector. With the end of the RMCP program, high hopes are set for new initiatives that can continue to strengthen the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and Australia in the future.
