Synergy of LPPM Unram and LPPM Unisba in Research and Community Service

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Research and Community Service Institute of the University of Mataram (LPPM Unram) received a visit from the LPPM of the Islamic University of Bandung (Unisba) as a strategic step to strengthen cooperation in the fields of research and community service on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the LPPM Unram Conference Room.

The event was attended by the Head of LPPM Unisba Prof. Dr. Neni Sri Imaniyati, S.H., M.Hum. along with a team of lecturers and researchers. While from Unram, the group was welcomed by the Secretary of LPPM Unram Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, M.P., accompanied by the Head of Unram Cooperation and KKN Center, Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, S.T., M.T., IPU. and Head of Data, Information, and Quality Center, I Wayan Sudiarta, Ph.D.

Prof. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana in his speech emphasized the importance of this collaboration to develop sustainable research and service capacity. “This collaboration not only focuses on joint research, but also on increasing the capacity of lecturers and students in scientific publications, community service, and academic innovation,” said Prof. Aryana.

The agreement covers various strategic aspects, including joint research that aims to increase cross-disciplinary collaboration, as well as community service programs that are expected to have a direct impact on the local community. A collaborative Real Work Study (KKN) program will also be implemented in the near future, involving students from both universities to contribute together in community service programs.

The collaboration also includes academic capacity building initiatives for lecturers and students through training and skills enhancement in research and service activities. Both parties are also committed to developing academic innovation and protection of research results through joint filing of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

During this meeting, the two institutions also signed a Cooperation Agreement which will serve as a formal basis for the implementation of various collaborative programs, such as excellent research in Islamic studies, halal ecosystems, environmentally friendly technology, and the utilization of local community potential in their respective regions.

Head of LPPM Unisba, Prof. Dr. Neni Sri Imaniyati stated, “This visit is a strategic step to strengthen synergy in the field of research and community service. Through this collaboration, we hope to exchange experiences and innovations that are beneficial to the wider community,” she concluded.

Through this opportunity, Unisba also hopes to play a role as a co-host in a national seminar in the humanities organized by Unram and develop collaboration in research and service with domestic funding schemes.

Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, S.T., M.T., IPU, as Head of the Center for Cooperation and Community Service (KKN) LPPM Unram added that this collaboration is an important step to develop capacity in the fields of research, publication, and service. “Through this collaboration, we are committed to ensuring that lecturers and students have better skills, both in research and community service,” he said.

The collaboration between LPPM Unram and LPPM Unisba is expected to strengthen the academic role of both institutions in research, community service, and empowerment of local potential through collaborative KKN programs and other sustainable initiatives.
