The Festive Sports and Arts Week of Unram 2023 Realizing Student Potential and Achievement
Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram Sports and Arts Week 2023 (Porseni Unram) was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs of Unram, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T. on Saturday (21/10) at the University of Mataram Rectorate Field.
Some of the competitions in the sports field consist of Volleyball, Basketball, Futsal, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, and 10km Run. As for the arts field, it consists of pop singing, dangdut singing, keroncong singing, poetry reading, photography, group vocals, and dance creations.
Dr. Muh. Makhrus, M.Pd. as the Chairperson of the Committee for Porseni Unram 2023 in his report said that the implementation of Porseni this year started from 21th – 27th October 2023 and will be closed on 28th October 2023. The Porseni 2023 was attended by students in all faculties of the University of Mataram, totaling 497 students in the field of sports and 76 students in the field of arts.
“The purpose of this Porseni is to obtain the best talents of students from the first to third semester, so that further coaching can be carried out. Hopefully Porseni Unram 2023 can show the interests and best creativity of students who can later contribute to the achievement and reward of IKU (Main Performance Indicators),” said Makhrus.
Furthermore, Dr. Sujita said that Porseni Unram 2023 was not just a competition, but also a place to foster the spirit of sportsmanship, togetherness, and strengthen solidarity among Unram students.
“This activity is not only about winning the competition, but also about how we can learn from every experience, build character, and build friendships that will bring long-term benefits in academic and professional journey,” he said.
At the opening of this year’s Porseni, the enthusiasm of the participants was very high. They were eager to compete and show their best abilities in various sports and arts. Porseni Unram 2023 is an important momentum for students to explore their talents and interests in various fields. In addition, this activity also strengthens the sense of identity and pride as part of the Unram academic community.
