UB Collaborates with Unram in Academic and Research Innovation Fields

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) received a visit from Brawijaya University on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, held at the Main Conference Room of the Unram Rectorate. The delegation from Brawijaya University was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau of Unram, Dwi Suswanto, S.Kom., M.M.

The visit aimed to strengthen institutional ties between the two universities, particularly in the areas of academics, research innovation, laboratory development, and quality assurance in education.

In his remarks, Dwi Suswanto highlighted various strengths and achievements of Unram, including the advancement of its specialist medical education programs.

“Currently, Unram has five Specialist Medical Education Programs (PPDS), including Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neurology, Pulmonology, and the most unique Marine Medicine, the only one in Indonesia focusing on tropical diseases in coastal and island areas,” he stated.

He also presented the progress of research at Unram, such as seaweed studies in Ekas Bay, the development of mangrove bean coffee by KKN (community service) students, and Lamtoro Beef, a green-feed-based livestock product that was once showcased at the G20 forum in Bali. These research initiatives involve not only lecturers but also students and UMKM, demonstrating Unram’s commitment to applying innovation based on local needs.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged information on flagship programs, laboratory development, and opportunities for research collaboration and academic mobility. Both Unram and Brawijaya University agreed to continue fostering productive partnerships to advance higher education in Indonesia.
