Unram and Sun Cable Indonesia Collaborate on Renewable Energy Research
Mataram, University of Mataram – the University of Mataram collaborates with PT. SunCable Indonesia. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday (8/8) via the Zoom Meeting digital platform.
The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., explained that, one of the collaborations that was carried out was about receiving scholarships for 12 Unram students.
“This scholarship is only for final semester students who are doing or doing a final project (thesis) that has a research focus related to renewable energy,” he explained.
The Rector of Unram hopes that, this collaboration is not only related to providing students, but there are also big things that can be done together related to exploring renewable energy sources in Indonesia.
“For example, in NTB there is geothermal potential, then there is also micro-hydro potential, there is even a very large potential for development related to solar power. There are certain areas in the South that are still not being utilized, this land can be used as land for the construction of solar power,” he explained.
Of course as the Rector, he really supports this activity, “hopefully we can collaborate on broader issues,” concluded Prof. Bambang.
Meanwhile, PT. Sun Cable Indonesia, represented by Tim Anderson as the Director was very pleased with the collaboration he had with Unram. He hopes that there will be a lot of collaboration with Unram students, lecturers and researchers.
“The point is we will build a bridge with the hope that many activities can be carried out together. We want to be one that will help Unram to carry out exploration and research quickly with all of its projects,” he said.
It was explained, Sun Cable was in preparation for building projects in Indonesia, especially in the West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara regions, with almost the same concept by prioritizing high quality.
“Therefore, we really want to build a network with universities, one of them is the University of Mataram,” he concluded.
