Nurturing the Spirit of Collaboration, Unram Commemorates the 95th Youth Pledge
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) held a ceremony with the entire Unram academic community in commemoration of the 95th Youth Pledge Day at the Unram Rectorate field, Saturday (28/10). Hundreds of participants in the Youth Pledge Day ceremony consisted of lecturers, students, and all educational staff in Unram.
The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., as the master of ceremony read the speech from the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia with the theme “Together Advancing Indonesia”. The theme was raised to reaffirm the commitment that had been built by the youth pledged in 1928 in the Youth Pledge that only with unity can the ideals of the nation be realized.
In his remarks, the Minister also raised a topic related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) whether it has been used optimally and massively. “Mastery of information technology and information and digital literacy must receive serious attention,” said the Rector of Unram.
Furthermore, Prof. Bambang while he read the Menpora’s speech explained that youth must have a vision, mission, and strategic role for the next 30 years so that development can be accelerate.
“Cross-generational teamwork and cross-sector mutual cooperation are the most powerful strategies in the implementation of the mandate of Law No. 40 of 2009 concerning Youth and Presidential Regulation No. 43 of 2022 regarding to Cross-Sector Coordination for the Implementation of Youth Services for the effective achievement of the Youth Development Index (IPP),” he said.
It also conveyed that the determination of all stakeholders including Ministries and Institutions, Provincial Governments, City District Governments, Youth Organizations, Communities and other elements are needed to make this 95th Youth Pledge Day commemoration a momentum to awaken the spirit of collaboration to develop the country.
