Unram Receives ULM Benchmarking Visit for BLU League Development and International Reputation

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) received a benchmarking visit from a group of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in the context of developing Unram in the BLU League and International Ranking Reputation in the Senate Session Room on the third floor of the Unram Rectorate Building on Monday, 12 August 2024.

The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. warmly welcomed ULM’s visit to Unram which was not only to strengthen relations between institutions, but also to share knowledge and experience to jointly improve the quality of education and international reputation.

In his speech, the Rector of Unram said that Unram has been working to achieve World Class University (WCU) status and improve the quality of KPI reporting at the national level and expressed his excitement for the opportunity to share experiences with ULM.

“As we know, the challenges of globalisation and rapid technological development require every university to continue to innovate and increase its capacity. University of Mataram has gone through various development phases in an effort to achieve World Class University status and improve the quality of IKU reporting at the national level, and we are very pleased to be able to share this journey with colleagues from Lambung Mangkurat University,” he said.

Prof Bambang also hoped that with this visit, Unram and ULM can find best practices that can be applied, as well as strengthen relationships to learn from each other and get mutual benefits.

Furthermore, ULM’s Vice Chancellor for General Planning and Finance, Dr. Ir. Arief R.M. Akbar, M.Si., IPU, explained that ULM had undergone a transition from PTN-Satker to PTN-BLU status for 2 years.

“ULM has had BLU status for 2 years, namely from the beginning of 2022. For this reason, our visit to Unram is to explore what we can learn and apply,” he said.

Dr Arief also hoped that the Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr as the head of the unit to provide direction, given that ULM is still in the structuring stage.
